Most people ask why I should book a cruise now for 2017 or beyond. The many benefits of booking early are numerous. When you book in advance, you get a great selection of cabin and pricing will be lower. Most cruise companies run promotions for cruisers to book early. Some of the promotions you will find are buy one get one half off. Children free with a paying adult. Get a free upgrade to your stateroom when you book in advance. Get a free beverage package or dining package. The other great benefits are that you will have up to one year to pay off your future cruise. Most pricing that is a year or more before your vacation is a lot lower than when you book within a year.
If you are already booked, make sure you book a future cruise while you are on the ship. Some of the perks of booking onboard are that you will receive an onboard credit for your future cruise and sometimes you will receive a reduced deposit. If you do book onboard, make sure you let the cruise ship personnel know that you are working with a travel agent, and they will send your ship itinerary to your agent.
If you wait to book, you will find a lower selection of cabins or the date may be all booked. This is especially true if you would like to do an Alaskan Cruise. These cruises typically book up within a few weeks once the itinerary comes out. The prices will also be higher, should you be able to find a cabin.
I am an avid cruiser, and I always book at least a year in advance. I am always checking to see if a cruise promotion can be applied to mine, and I usually see that I always have a better deal.
