Relax as lush gardens, warm breezes and sunny skies beckon. Six brightly colored “villages” — each named after a Caribbean island — capture the alluring ambiance of the tropics. This island playground features seven pools and pristine white-sand beaches on the shores of a 45-acre lake.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
This Disney Moderate Resort in the Epcot area celebrates the spirit of tropical locales—from the legacy of colonial forts and architecture to lively markets, exotic birds and relaxing strolls on the sand. Each island complex is bright, airy and colorful with access to a 45-acre lake and sandy beaches.
The Caribbean Beach Resort is designed with a Caribbean theme. Guests stay in one of the small buildings that encircle Barefoot Bay, a 45-acre (180,000 m2) lake. Buildings are grouped into one of five villages, with shared resources, each named after an island in the Caribbean: Martinique, Barbados, Jamaica, Aruba, and Trinidad. There is also an internal bus that travels throughout the entire resort with bus stops at each village. Each village has its own swimming pool and some also have their own playgrounds.
Resort facilities are located at Old Port Royale Centertown, a building that contains a restaurant, a food court, arcade, and two gift shops.
The shores of the bay feature beaches, hammocks, and other activities such as beach volleyball. The resort also features various water sports at the Marina, where resort hotel guests can rent various watercraft, such as paddle boats and speed boats by the half-hour.
The resort offers bus service to all 4 Disney theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom), both water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water park), and Disney Springs.
In addition to bus transportation, Caribbean Beach Resort also serves as one of the stops for the new Disney Skyliner aerial gondolas providing an alternate form of transportation to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Travel in style in a themed gondola featuring magical Disney touches and details. Some of the gondolas are adorned with iconic Disney Characters, figures from Disney attractions and film favorites.
